Uncle Brad

“And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I’d of had to miss the dance”
– Garth Brooks

Today is an anniversary we wish we didn’t have.  Twenty years ago, my wife’s brother, Brad, passed away.  I never knew him, but Stacie tells me that there is no place he’d rather be than behind the wheel of a tractor on the farm in Kentucky.  My family has many fond memories of Uncle Brad, and this is one of them.

  2. Doug, thank you for remembering Brad today in such a special way. Sometimes we hear “The Dance” on the radio when we least expect to but today this was the best. I wish you could have known him. Brad would have certainly approved of the man Stacie chose for her husband. Bob and I love you.

PS. The sketch is awsome. Can you do one for me.

    • Hi Sandy,
I was thinking about you and Bob yesterday, and I hope you had a good day. I’m glad you like the sketch – this one is in my sketchbook, but I’m happy to do one for you too. We look forward to seeing you and Bob soon.

  3. Doug,
Thank you for your kind words and your wonderful sketch. In my mind, this is how I will always see Brad. I can see him on my Daddy’s tractor, and also on a motorcycle!!! Yes, I think you would have LOVED Brad. Stacie is a very lucky lady to have you in her life. I know Brad would have been one of your best friends!!! Thanks
